Monica Rankin, History Professor at UT Dallas, was looking for a way to better engage students in a large survey course. She developed a technique that included using Twitter once per weekduring class. Watch and read for the details of this innovative teaching method.
Is this something that you would consider doing? What do you see as the risks and rewards?

This is really cool.
ReplyDeleteI liked this. The fact that A professor already used it in 2009 when many of her students had not heard about twitter (I didnt have a twitter account then..) is most interesting to me. Now how and when I can use this in my class....mmm I need to think
This is an innovative idea. I admire the fact that she used the type of interaction that was comfortable to her students to get them to participate in discussion. Not sure if I would use it myself, because of the issues of privacy or excluding students without access to the technology. However, I think she sent out a solid message of make the technology work for you and not be overrun by it. So great idea!
