Like many of you, I consider this blogging exercise for EDHI 9040 a "have to." It's a good "have to" though, because as I look back at the archive of this blog, I am pleasantly surprised by some of my posts. There are some good resources there, some good ideas, and a shopping metaphor that I think holds up two years later. I hope when our blogging is done for the term, you will find some joy in your archive as well!

The joy of archived reflection
Like many of you, I consider this blogging exercise for EDHI 9040 a "have to." It's a good "have to" though, because as I look back at the archive of this blog, I am pleasantly surprised by some of my posts. There are some good resources there, some good ideas, and a shopping metaphor that I think holds up two years later. I hope when our blogging is done for the term, you will find some joy in your archive as well!

It will be interesting to use as some perspective on our learning. Memories can change, but how we learn will be preserved here.
ReplyDeleteThinking about this reminds me of what was said at the end of my karate class at UGA. The teacher said, "If I had a camera and recorded you all on your first day, you would have thought, 'This is hopeless.' Look at yourselves now." We had come a long way.
I can see the archives of past blogs being a really interesting document to look back on. Maybe this is the best part of these things--the element of reflection on your past self.
