Multimedia Content Resource

Looking for multimedia or Web-based resources to facilitate understanding of a particular topic? Try a little MERLOT! Not the wine, but the Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching at merlot.org.

MERLOT is a Web site where you can search or browse for resources in your discipline, submit reviews, or submit your own resources. Some resources include complementary lessons or assignments.

  1. Hah-hah! My first thought was of getting drunk off of wine after experiencing frustrating technological situations. I'll have a look at this an let you know what I found...

  2. My verdict is: very cool!
    You can search for stuff by subject, then look at assessment examples, people you could contact, or learning materials. The learning materials are divided into type, such as simulations, animations, tests, etc. I found a fun game that teaches about natural selection, and simulations of yucky chemistry topics like molecular bonding. This stuff would have helped ME when I was an undergrad (in yucky chemistry classes), and I got a little carried away with some of it because... well, everyone loves games, especially when they're about your favorite subject!
